I'm really glad
This weekend after some amazing street tacos at The Fold , Joe and I headed to this small brewery on the other side of town called Stone’s Throw Brewing. We were pretty damn impressed to say the least.
Located in the historic area of Little Rock, Stone’s Throw is nestled in the heart of the Catholic community (which is pretty teeny down here). We totally felt at home in the small taproom. There were a few customers enjoying the beautiful day and chatting as they sipped some brews…all of which are handcrafted by the 4 owners who have full time jobs in addition to the brewery.
We ordered a flight of beers for a whopping 12 bucks. Totally rad price for some of the best Irish Red I’ve ever had. Their cider was fantastic too (I had two myself), not too sweet with a clean finish. About half way through the flight after talking to two awesome bartenders, Joe asked if we could peek at the brew room. The bartender told us as long as we had a beer in our hand, we were welcome to it. We moseyed over there and met two of the brew masters who explained the complicated process of making beer. Clearly these guys have passion for their work…and hard work it is. The upkeep to keep everything clean and sanitized alone takes 5-6 hours.
To make this place a little more interesting, the hours of operation are from 12-9 most days as to not disturb the residential community. They also offer nifty discounts if you walk or bike. Oh yeah, and if you get a little famished from all of that brew drinking (it’s hard work), they’ve partnered with some nifty local food trucks parked right outside the doors. Depending on the day, you can nom on chicken and waffles or maybe some Mexican grub. Perhaps my favorite part of this little gem is that they are dog friendly. That means the next time we go there, Darwin dog gets a seat the bar too!
Happy Sunday lovelies!
I’ve never even heard of this place. We’ll have to check it out!
