I'm really glad
When Evan and Justin asked me to photograph their wedding, I KNEW that this was going to be one of the most special weddings I would ever shoot. Evan and I were texting about their big day when she told me how important it was to have a friend shoot their wedding, and how much that meant to them. If you all know anything about the military life, you know how important our friendships are. How incredibly lucky am I to get to photograph one of the most important times in my friends lives? To have them trust me with this job meant so much to me, and I was going to make sure I told their tale in the best possible way. When August rolled around, I packed my bags and headed back to Little Rock to do just that.
You guys…it was one of the most sweet and emotional days I have ever photographed. Evan and Justin’s family had so much joy in their hearts for the two of them. This was truly a celebration of two families uniting and sharing their love for Evan and Justin. Justin’s mom crafted Evan’s stunning veil, which floated effortlessly down the aisle of St. Edward’s Catholic Church. Real and raw moments while Evan was getting ready were brimming with happy tears and pride with her mother and her grandmother. Their bridal party was committed to making sure everything ran smoothly and on time…and they danced their hearts out at the reception, which was basically the most epic dance off ever. Speaking of dancing…the Hennelly brothers coordinated a way rad dance to surprise Evan after dinner. It. Was. Amazing. Oh! And the speeches! There wasn’t a dry eye in the house after those!
Their family and friends came from literally all over the world for their wedding, and Evan and Justin were the most gracious and considerate hosts I have ever worked with. After a full day, these two poured into the people that came to support them until the very end of the night.
But more than anything, the way these two were in-between the hustle and bustle of their wedding day pulled at my heartstrings. These two have the kind of love that is pure and true. Their ceremony was one of those that I shot with blurry teary eyes…there is nothing better than seeing a couple promise forever with unabashed happiness.
My sweet friends, you are one a million. Cheers to many, many, many years of health and happiness!
