Layci | A Classically Styled Bridal Session | Wisconsin Wedding Photographer

One of the best traditions of Southern weddings are the beautiful bridal sessions that happen prior to the wedding. As a gal from the Midwest, bridal sessions were something I had no idea even existed until I started photographing weddings in the South! This is definitely something I recommend to all of my Midwest brides after 6 years of documenting weddings in Arkansas, Mississippi, and Alabama.

Layci was an absolute stunner in her luxury Morilee gown. When she walked out, my first thought was, “THIS IS HER CINDERELLA DRESS!” Gang…the shimmer and glitter of this blush dress was unreal. It really felt like Layci was having a Disney Princess moment (and who doesn’t want that?!) the entire time we were shooting. The historic Shadowlawn Bed & Breakfast provided the perfect back drop, giving this classic session serious Scarlet O’Hare vibes. The final cherry on top was the beautiful sunset adding even more elegance to all of Layci’s portraits.

Bridal sessions are the perfect opportunity to give hair and makeup a test trial, see how your dress fits and flows, and make any last minute adjustments before your wedding day. Being able to photograph all of your bridal details prior to your wedding gives us ample time to capture your entire bridal look without the pressures of a timeline. Oh! And of course, all of your beautiful bridal portraits are edited and delivered prior to your wedding day…which means you can have those gorgeous images displayed at your reception for everyone to ooh and ahh over! Who doesn’t love that?

Think of all the money and time you spend choosing your wedding dress, your shoes, your veil, your jewelry. That is one heck of an investment to wear for just one day. A bridal session allows you to get more use out of these treasured pieces and make timeless keepsakes for you to cherish for a lifetime. It truly is a chance to celebrate how not only special it is to a bride, but how fun it can be.

Wedding planning can be super stressful…I felt that same pressure with my own wedding day, that’s for sure. Having a day to yourself where you can dress up, live out your own personal fairy tale, and simply enjoy that bridal glow is WELL deserved, my friend!
